Huberman Lab Podcast interviews David Anderson about the biology of violence, mating and arousal

Andrew Huberman, Ph.D., a neuroscientist and tenured Professor in the Department of Neurobiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine, interviews David Anderson, PhD, a world expert in the science of sexual behavior, violent aggression, fear and other motivated states on his podcast. Dr. Anderson is the Seymour Benzer Professor of Biology and Director and Leadership Chair of the Tianqiao and Chrissy Chen Institute for Neuroscience at Caltech. He is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences and an investigator with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI).

The two discuss how states of mind (and body) arise and persist and how they probably better explain human behavior than emotions per se. They also discuss the many kinds of arousal that create varying levels of pressure for certain behaviors to emerge.
